Wisconsin Charter Schools Success
9th Annual Wisconsin Charter Schools Conference Held April 20-21
The ninth annual Wisconsin Charter Schools Conference, sponsored by the Wisconsin Charter Schools Association and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, showcased a diversity of educational models. The annual conference focused on several mini conferences that brought forth the innovation aspect of charter public schools for all to see.
Attendees were brought together for keynote presentations by Governor Jim Doyle, Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton, Deputy State Superintendent Tony Evers,President of the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, Nelson Smith, Curtis Johnson, co-author of Disrupting Class: How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the World Learns, andJames Paul Gee, Professor of Literacy Studies at the Arizona State University.
